rossi_j 99
O.k guys here is my review on the guntuff lazer rangefinder (l.r.f), firstly I would like to comment on the service I recieved from j s ramsbottom, I orderd the item at 7pm and had a tracking number by 8.30am the following day and standard delivery took two days, 1st class service in my opinion. It should be noted that this is the only l.r.f I have owned so will talk about said unit without anything to compare it with, I have however heard good things about it prior to purchase. The l.r.f is very simple to use and is great for checking zero range and taking the guess work out of long range shots, it is also a good tool for static hunting where you can make a mental note of the different ranges from your position or even place physical markers out. You know when you get a sat nav and seem to loose you ability to navigate to places without it, the same can not be said about relying upon the l.r.f once you have one as I have found it has also improved my mental rangefinding, to aid my improvement in accurately assesing diferent ranges I play a little game (sad I know but I do), anything I lazer I guess the distance in my head first and give myself a yard either way tolerence if I guess correctly I call it a "hit" and if it is a few yards out a "miss", may sound a little daft but I am getting more and more "hits", showing me that the l.r.f is improving my own rangefinding skills aswel as giving very accurate readings for perfect shot placement. I appreciate that a review of the guntuff l.r.f has probably been done before, as it is my newest piece of kit that I am very pleased with im going to do it again The l.r.f comes with case and lense cloth, it is a very handy sieze making it compact enough for me to take everywhere with me when I go out, it is now a permanent feature in the pocket of my hunting jacket, it feels very sturdy and well built with two buttons on top to laze and flick through various settings, the magnification is 6x and the focus adjustable making for very clear optics. The lcd display is very clear and easy to use with a target in the middle to aim at the object/quarry you wish to lazer, the distance can be displayed in metres or yard, if you laze the object in metres then flick it to yards while the reading is still displayed you will get a reading for each, a signal strength bar also indicates the strength of the reflection witch in turn represents the quality of the reading. A poor weather setting is at the touch of a button for accurate Range finding in rain and a setting for range finding through obstructions eg. Power lines and trees ect. Anyway That was my bit, heres the technical details. .magnifying power -6x .objective lense- 25mm .prism- bak4 roof prism .focus system- eyepiece lense .field of view- 7 degree .measureing distance 15-400m or 16-440yds .powerd by cr2 battery x1 .weight 108g .seize 40x 105x 75mm .screen lcd That is the technical data worth mentioning in my opinion if anyone wants more please ask. Also it automaticaly turns of after 15 secs, witch is good if you are forgetfull like me Sory about the lack of pics, but im sure you can find some on google. The price was £108 including postage, but I managed to find a use for it at work so slipped the reciept in on expenses lol This is my first review any coments welcome including critisim as long as constructional. Thanks for reading .atb. .ste. This post has been promoted to an article 3 Quote Link to post

zini 1,939
Hi Ste, Nice read buddy . I just wanted to add that Ste has the new and updated GunTuff LRF Shay which is alot better than our older ones, hence the extra £30 ish pounds. His as different buttons making them more secure from falling off and more functions within the LRF. If ours is a out of 100 for quality, his must easily be a 95 out of 100. Si Quote Link to post

peeps_76 17
great write up! sp from me! i got one of these about aug/sept last year and have wondered since then how i managed without it. we lased a few prominent points at most of our static positions and had some interesting result. even with pacing out in the past we were way wrong with some distances. maybe ask the mods to pin this sort of reveiws for others to find easily??????? regards P Quote Link to post
